Atlantic Clipper is the Whitsundays largest charter yacht (small ship) which offers 2 day 2 night sailing tours around the Whitsundays. This tour is for the 18-35s social fun seeker market. The tour offers time to explore the islands, including time to relax at the magnificent Whitehaven Beach, walk to Hill Inlet Lookout and experience two snorkelling stops on the fringing coral reefs which extend right from the edge of the Islands. Optional Scuba dives are also available. Day time ship-board activities include relaxing in the 12 person hot tub or sliding off our massive water slide. Of an evening the crew will join in to make an evening fun and entertainment with games, music and even a fancy dress up show. Atlantic Clipper offers plenty of space across 3 decks, including an upper sundeck, mid-level saloon, lounge dining area, and the lower deck guest cabin area. Dive equipment is on-board and optional Intro or Certified Dives are available. Cruise is Eco- Certified.
Atlantic Clipper leaves the Marina at approximately 2.30pm and after an orientation briefing the two majestic sails are hoisted and we cruise across Whitsunday Passage past the Molle group of islands along the southern end of Hook Island to Hook Passage which is sandwiched between the two largest islands out of the 74 that make up the Whitsundays.
Once at the overnight anchorage there is plenty of time to enjoy a swim in the clear, tropical waters. The Clipper’s 8 metrE waterslide, 5 metre high dive board and 12 person hot spa are in full swing but as the day moves into the twilight hours it’s time to enjoy a cold beverage and marvel at the mesmerising sun setting over the islands. Enjoy dinner, then it`s up to the guests whether they get involved with the on-board activities or call it a night ready for tomorrow`s adventure.
It’s a bright and early start for our Atlantic Clipper trippers at 6.30am. Passengers enjoy a continental breakfast including a delicious fresh fruit platter. The Atlantic Clipper arrives to Whitehaven just before 8am and your crew guide takes guests to a lookout which is the 4th most photographed place in Australia and overlooks the white sands of Hill Inlet on Whitehaven Beach. From this lookout point guests are then taken to north Whitehaven Beach and the passengers have the opportunity to explore the pristine sand first hand as well as soak up the sun or play beach games.
Return to the vessel at 11am and after a sail and some lunch arrive to our first snorkel and dive destination. With 2 dive instructors there is no shortage of opportunity to explore the magical coral reefs. Whether it be snorkelling or scuba diving this underwater world lights up before your eyes. Exploring the reef is a truly memorable life experience.
After some sliding off the waterslide and diving off the dive board it’s time for a hot shower, afternoon snacks and a cold drink whilst enjoying a sunset sail to the overnight anchorage. If time allows we try to watch the sunset on a beautiful sandy spit off an island called Langford which is nothing short of stunning! The day is capped off with a light hearted and informative crew talk, which provides an overview about where we have been what we have done as well as interesting facts about the islands as well as the underwater life.
After dinner the pace of the evening is raised. Party tunes check! Fancy dress, check! Disco and strobe light, check check! With all the preparations in place by the fun and outgoing crew it’s time for everyone to have a dance, let their down and play some organised party games. This is known by the crew as ‘the show’ and it involves singing, dancing and fun, it’s interactive and is always a highlight for guests on board. The fun continues throughout the evening until its lights out at 12am.
The final day starts with a singing wake-up call by one of the crew at 6.30am, then it’s time for a continental breakfast before scuba diving and snorkel operations commence at 7.30am.
This final location offers another chance for a dive or snorkel. After this final goodbye to the coral reef there is more water sliding and diving board action to be had. The anchor is raised at approximately 10am and then back to Airlie Beach for arrival at 12pm.
That’s the end of the trip, but it’s not the end of the service we offer because in partnership with local businesses we also have an after party organised where our guests meet up. This rounds off the Whitsunday experience and sends our guests with a smile to their next destination.
