Outlander Explorer Day Tour

We leave the capital behind and drive west with views of Linlithgow Palace before stopping at Doune Castle (aka Castle Leoch) known as one of Scotland’s best preserved Medieval Castles. You’ll have time to explore this historic Castle which also featured as Winterfell in Game of Thrones and Monty Pythons Holy Grail.

Our journey takes us on to the Kingdom of Fife, an area of great historical importance.  We make a stop in Culross, where Claire was accused of witchcraft in the village of ‘Cranesmuir’. This is the most complete example of a 17th & 18th century burgh in Scotland today.

Our lunch stop will be in the village of Falkland, used for filming 1940’s Inverness.  With over 28 listed buildings it gives a good representation of this period. After lunch we will have time to take in another of the iconic Outlander sites, Aberdour Castle which was used as the monastery in the final episode of season 1.
