If you’re as big a fan of exotic destinations as we are, then Morocco is the place for you! On this trip you’ll store the memories of incredible views, foods, and people for a lifetime. You’ll walk through intoxicating spice markets, and stare up at the clearest night skies you’ve ever imagined. If that wasn’t enough, you’ll venture into the Sahara Desert mounted atop a loyal humped steed. What could be better?
Our epic 15-day adventure starts in the marvellously mesmerising Marrakech! Following a ride to the hotel, you’ll have a welcome meeting with your fantastic guide and fellow passengers. Now that you’ve made new best friends, we’ll have a delicious authentic dinner (courtesy of Busabout), followed by some free time to discover this magical place at your own pace. Remember, we’re returning for a more thorough visit in just a few days, so take it slow and enjoy the vibes.
The second day dawns and with it comes the beginning of a beautiful friendship between ourselves and Casablanca. Upon arrival we’ll follow a guided tour to hit all up the local sights. We recommend an optional visit to the famous Hassan II Mosque - the largest in Morocco, with the world’s tallest minaret of 210 meters! Afterwards, use your free time to explore the city centre before meeting fellow travellers for dinner and an evening in Morocco’s biggest city! When the night’s done you’ll wish you could live it all again.
Bye bye Casablanca! This morning we’re setting course inland for the Imperial City of Meknes. After a short jaunt up the coast, we’ll arrive at our first stop for today: Morocco’s capital city, Rabat. Upon arrival we’ll follow a guided tour of the local sights, including a visit to the spectacular Kasbah of the Udayas in the old quarter of town. Onwards and we arrive in Meknes. Explore the Medina and spend your afternoon enjoying the sights, including the ornate mosaics of the city’s gates, the spectacular 12th century Grand Mosque, and the magnificence of the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Later, enjoy an evening exploring this vibrant city.
This leg of our journey will take us to the quaint town of Chefchaouen. En route, we’ll be stopping at Volubilis, where we’ll enjoy a guided tour of the largest ancient Roman ruins in Morocco! Upon arrival, we’ll take a tour of the beautiful blue medina. Get your photography on, it’s time to make all your friends jealous with the perfect shot of this mountainous paradise! Explore the traditional Berber markets and pick up some souvenirs. Visit the Kasbah and mosques before heading out to the medina’s main square to relax in a cafe or bar with a refreshing drink and some delicious local food.
Fantastic Fes, the oldest and largest medieval city in the world awaits today! After a short journey we’ll arrive in the fascinating city of Fes. Feel free to relax and unwind or venture into the streets to sink your teeth into the rich cultural experience of this eclectic city.
We’ll dedicate today to Fes, and what better way to do so than with a guided tour of the world’s oldest and largest medieval city! Get lost in the sights and smells of the local labyrinthine souks, or do a touch of shopping. See the world's oldest continuously functioning university, and explore the dye-pits and tanneries of the UNESCO-listed medina of Fes. Exploring is hungry work, so grab a delicious local lunch while you’re out and enjoy the rest of your afternoon in this unique locale. Tonight, we offer an optional night on the town featuring a delicious traditional meal followed by a magical night of cultural entertainment, so flex your bellies because they are going to be dancing.
Today we’re southward bound and rolling our way to the Middle Atlas mountains and our lofty destination of Midelt. A vast mountain range, the Middle Atlas is known for its cedar forests, endangered Barbary macaque, and unique charm. Shifting sands of coarse orange, dunes looming on high, nothing ahead but the endless wastes of a world not meant for human feet. The Sahara Desert beckons. We’re going in. But first we’ll get our strengths up with a stop where we can enjoy an optional Moroccan lunch and a cooling dip in the pool. Once we are nice and refreshed, we head out to the red sands of Merzouga where we transfer to our lovely humped steeds for trek into the desert. Camels might not be the smoothest of rides, but we still recommend keeping your camera at the ready, as this is a bucket list experience you won't want to forget. Tonight, we share an unbelievable evening under the Saharan stars with the local Berbers, enjoying traditional food, drink, and music.
What could be better than waking up amid the magical Saharan dunes? Not much… but a trip to Todra Gorge might come close. We’ll arrive at this gorgeous natural marvel in the late morning and you’ll have the full day to explore. See the incredible sheer cliffs carved out by millennia of water erosion and the humble stream (once a raging river) responsible. Enjoy a delicious local lunch, then we'll visit the Berber co-operative and peruse an abundance of handmade rugs, carpets, and kilims on offer. Perhaps you’ll even take some Arabian treasures home. This evening we watch the sunset over the gorge as the fading sun paints the cliffs in a myriad of pastel oranges and blues. Afterwards, we’ll be enjoying a delicious authentic dinner.
It’s a shame to leave Todra Gorge but we’ve got a full day ahead of us, so we’re hitting the road bright and early with the world famous Ait Benhaddou in our sights. Along the way we’ll off stop in Ouarzazate, where we offer an optional tour of the film studios, which boast a roster of impressive projects including Lawrence of Arabia, The Hills Have Eyes, Gladiator, and even Game of Thrones. As we make our way along the Ouarzazate river we arrive at the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou. This storied site has been in too many movies to mention and features many a famous kasbah, some still inhabited. Enjoy a guided tour followed by a delicious local dinner in this stunning location.
We’ll arrive in the coastal gem of Essaouira this afternoon ready to be swept away by white and blue buildings, guarded by 15th century fortifications. If you’re experiencing deja vu it’s probably just that Essaouira is Astapor on the hit series Game of Thrones. Spend the rest of the day hitting the golden sand beaches, surfing on the Atlantic, exploring the local cuisine or the medieval medina. Alternatively, relax in one of the numerous local cafes before heading out for a night on the town to bask in the quaint atmosphere of this beautiful town.
Dust off that swim-suit or polish your explorers boots, today you’re free to do whatever you please. Check out the local beaches if the draw of the Atlantic proves to be irresistible. A great local beach is directly in front of the medina so grab the suncream and work on that tan. If surfing is your jam, waste no time getting in the water! Once you’re good and brown, find a cafe for a refreshing mint tea, grab a bite to eat, and do some souvenir shopping. Tonight, enjoy another wonderful evening on the town, making memories in the rejuvenating sea breeze.
